OSKALOOSA BOYS TRACK SEES STRONG PERFORMANCES AT MID-PRAIRIE

WELLMAN — The Oskaloosa boys track and field team competed Tuesday, April 20, at the Mid-Prairie Hawk Relays, with several athletes stepping up and turning in strong performances.

Lane Smith once again led the Indians, earning a second-place finish in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:51.34. He also placed fourth in the 1600-meter run in 5:03.19.

Micah Van Ee continued to show improvement, placing fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.29. He also recorded two new personal records during the meet.

The coaching staff was pleased with how the team responded, especially with several athletes stepping into new roles after last-minute absences. Many runners helped fill relay spots, contributing to the team effort.

Oskaloosa also saw strong performances across other events. Oscar Chambers placed sixth in the 100-meter dash, while Sam Nelson took sixth in the 400-meter dash. The shuttle hurdle relay team earned a sixth-place finish and set a new freshman record.

The team finished the night with 11 new personal records, showing continued growth as the season moves forward.
