After his victory last week, we had the opportunity to ask Ken Rozenboom a couple of questions on the election.

Your thoughts now that the election is over?

Affirmation.  I believed that my many years of business experience, and the opportunity to work with many fine residents of Mahaska County, would translate into strong support on election day.  That has been confirmed. Also, I’ve been warned about the considerable learning curve that comes along with this office.  I’m ready for it.

What steps are you taking now that you have won?

Already last Thursday night I went with Lawrence to a board meeting in Ottumwa that I will be serving on.  I intend to begin going to all the appropriate meetings from now on so I can hit the ground running in January.

When do you start your new job?

I haven’t confirmed this with anyone yet, but I assume I’ll start on January 3.

Any other comments you would like to make to the voters,supporters?

I want to express my appreciation to the voters of Mahaska County for their strong support, and to the many that have spoken kind words of support and affirmation.  I intend to hold up my end of the bargain!
