Mahaska County Democrats hold annual soup supper

Boswell at Democrat Soup Supper

The Mahaska County Democrats held their annual chili and potato soup supper tonight. County Treasurer Sone Scott lead the planning effort again this year. The soup supper was similar to recent years with State Representative Eric Palmer present helping serve residents. One thing different this year was that Congressman Leonard Boswell made a brief stop at the supper to speak to residents.

Boswell praised Eric Palmer for his “hard work” in the state house and talked briefly on why voters should re-elect Palmer. Boswell also  took the time to comment on County Treasurer Sone Scott. Boswell praised her work as county treasurer and also encouraged voters to re-elect her. After speaking, Boswell took the time to go back and greet the kitchen crew. Said one resident about the soup supper “It was great to come and visit with fellow democrats. It was also nice to hear the congressman speak and of course it was nice to sample the great food here.”
