Library Teen Advisory Board conducts cemetery walk

Mrs. Fox and Libby Boer get set for Libby's presentation where she represented Mrs. Frank E. Christie.

The Oskaloosa Public Library’s teen advisory board conducted their annual cemetery walk today. The weather conditions were cold and foggy but that only added to the excitement. The cemetery walk is an annual event in which high school youth take biographies of certain deceased historical residents of Osky and create a theatrical presentation to present to the persons takingĀ  the walk. The walk typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. This year the walk featured 12 different stops and 20 historical residents. A total of 19 high school youth participated as characters. Some of the residents featured were: Robert Kissick, an attorney at law and civil war lieutenant, William Cricket, Mayor of Oskaloosa, and John F Lacey, congressman and proponent of conservation law enforcement. Below is the full listing of residents and who portrayed them.

Charlie Comfort portrays his role of Robert Kissick on September 19 2010

The Cemetery Walk had a smaller than normal group, possibly due to the weather.

Ginny Lane takes on the part of J.F. Lacey.
