Library Teen Advisory Board conducts cemetery walk
The Oskaloosa Public Library’s teen advisory board conducted their annual cemetery walk today. The weather conditions were cold and foggy but that only added to the excitement. The cemetery walk is an annual event in which high school youth take biographies of certain deceased historical residents of Osky and create a theatrical presentation to present to the persons takingĀ the walk. The walk typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. This year the walk featured 12 different stops and 20 historical residents. A total of 19 high school youth participated as characters. Some of the residents featured were: Robert Kissick, an attorney at law and civil war lieutenant, William Cricket, Mayor of Oskaloosa, and John F Lacey, congressman and proponent of conservation law enforcement.
