Project 52 Plans Tree Planting For Holly Caudle

Holly Caudle

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Project 52 will descend upon Edmundson Park Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. to plant a tree to honor Holly Caudle.

A potluck following the tree planting is planned for those wishing to attend.

Ashley Probst nominated Holly to Project 52 and had this to say why she did so. “Holly was a long time resident of Oskaloosa and died 10 days after giving birth to her daughter last year from peripartum cardiomyopathy. She was raising her family in Houston, TX and they all will coming up for the ceremony. I just wanted a place for her family and friends here in Iowa to come when we needed to feel close to her.”

Holly’s mother Candy Caudle shared some more info about Holly. “Holly was a graduate from Osky High on May 29, 2005. She gave birth to her 1 and only child, a little girl Khylee Renee, on March 14, 2010 and passed away on March 24, 2010. Her daughter will be there for the ceremony and we are hoping everyone will show up to pay their respects and to meet Holly’s daughter. Holly died from an enlarged heart that no one new she had, her heart was extremely stressed during child birth and finally gave out 10 days later.”

According to the Project 52 website, the tree planting will include, “Members of Project 52 will bring a 10 to 14 foot red maple to a place you choose and plant the tree; including all the preparation. After the tree is placed in the hole, family and friends will have the opportunity to shovel dirt back onto the tree to complete the planting. The family will receive a tree marker and plaque that will state for whom the tree was planted in memory of and the year it was planted. A short dedication and prayer will be offered once the tree planting is completed.”

If you would like to attend, the planting is scheduled at Edmundson Park on Saturday, September 3rd starting at 10:00 am. Holly’s mother hopes to have the final location picked out on Friday (they hope for it to be near the playground).
