Clow Valve Company recently donated their property located at 1336 12th Ave. E to the Oskaloosa Indoor Sports Complex (OISC).

The OISC is a volunteer run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing indoor practice opportunities for young athletes in Mahaska County. According to Clow vice president and general manager, Mark Willett, that made OISC a good choice for the building.

We recognized there is a crucial need for Mahaska County youth to have an indoor sports training facility,” Willett said. “We are happy to be part of a project that will serve a significant number of youth in Oskaloosa and the surrounding area.”

OISC board president, Laura North, says there are plans to immediately start work on making the facility available for a wide range of indoor sport practices this fall. Phase one of the plan takes place this month with the installation of almost 13,000 square feet of turf flooring and batting cages.

“We are extremely excited about this new facility and what it will bring to the Oskaloosa Community. We are very thankful to Clow Valve for making this possible,” North said.

OISC hopes to have phase one complete so team, individual and family memberships can begin the end of November.

“There is a direct correlation in off-season training and in-season success. We want kids in Oskaloosa to have the opportunity to train and work on their game,” North said.
