Maurine Amy Marshall, 88, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, September 4, 2020, at the MHP Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born December 20, 1931, in Escondido, California the daughter of Albert and Alma (Shamberger) Marshall.

Maurine graduated from Santa Paula High School in California with the Class of 1950.

Following high school graduation, she went to work as a civilian at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme, California. She continued working in Port Hueneme for 25 years before retiring.

She moved to Iowa in March of 2019. She was a member of the Oxnard Presbyterian Church while living in California and after moving to Iowa she attended the Hillside Bible Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, riding motorcycles, playing bingo with a good glass of wine and had a love for her cat, CeCe. Above all else, Maurine enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She had a special place in her heart for all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Her family includes her sister, Dorothy Wymore of Oskaloosa and her family; her brother, Albert (Neysa) Marshall of Ventura, CA and his family; and her beloved cat, CeCe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her life partner, Lois Lundberg; a brother in law, Russell Wymore; 2 nephews, Paul Norton Jr. and Bobby Mauer; and 2 great nieces, Krysta Norton and Naomi Norton.

As was Maurine’s wish, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Oskaloosa, Iowa and Oxnard, California. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
