Yang named to Academic All-District Soccer Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Jasper Yang ’21 gets it done both on the soccer field and in the classroom, a fact backed up by his being named to the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team for the second season in a row.

Yang, a forward and biology major from Stow, Mass. (Nashoba Regional, made history in the process by becoming the first-ever Pioneer men’s soccer player to earn back-to-back honors from CoSIDA. He was one of 12 players voted by sports information directors to the NCAA Division III District 8 squad, which includes 21 states and Canada.

Yang ranked among the Midwest Conference leaders this season in goals scored (12), points (30), assists (six), shots on goal (37) and shots (58). His .638 shot accuracy rate is 21st nationally. The shots on goal total ranks second in Pioneer program history, the shots total is fourth and the goals count is tied for 10th.

With a season still to go, Yang is seventh in career goals scored at Grinnell with 28 and ninth in points with 65.

By being named Academic All-District, Yang’s name will appear on the ballot for Academic All-America.
