William Penn #24 in Preseason Poll
Oskaloosa–The Lady Statesmen golf team was rewarded for a strong fall as the NAIA’s preseason top-25 poll was released Friday.
William Penn is 24th in the rating with 91 points. The ranking is the highest in school history, one spot higher than its previous best of #25 this past March 30.
The Lady Statesmen placed first in three events, second in three more, and sixth (out of 21 teams) at the NAIA Preview in September.
Defending national champion British Columbia heads the NAIA with 430 points and ten first-place votes, while SCAD Savannah (Ga.) is a close second with 422 points and the final five first-place votes. Lubbock Christian (Texas), Oklahoma City, and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) round out the top five.
William Penn is the only program from Iowa in the top 25, while fellow Midwest Collegiate Conference foe Grand View is unofficially 33rd with 25 points.
