Statesmen of the Week: Brandon Powell and Gabriana Franco

Oskaloosa–Football player Brandon Powell (Fr., Waco, Texas, Kinesiology) and women’s golfer Gabriana Franco (Jr., Tracy, Calif., Exercise Science) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of September 9-15, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Powell accounted for a third of William Penn’s 284-yard air attack against Baker. The freshman caught six passes, resulting in 109 yards and two touchdowns. His longest reception was 40 yards.

Franco led the Statesmen as she placed third out of 37 golfers at the William Penn Statesmen Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. Her score of 151 included rounds of 74 and 77, featuring four birdies and 22 pars.
