Statesmen Football Practice Open To The Public

William Penn practice is going well according to William Penn Head Coach Todd Hafner

Oskaloosa, Iowa – With the sounds of pads slapping and a whistle chirping out orders to players, the William Penn Statesmen Football squad has been hitting the practice field in preparation of their August 27th home opener against Iowa Wesyleyan scheduled for the new Lacey Complex Stadium at 6:00 p.m.

The team is coming off a stellar year last year, and is a pick to win the Midwest League title this year after their 10-1 season last year, and tied for the league championship.

The team is holding practices weather permitting on the practice field behind the PAC and if the weather is poor, they will move inside the PAC, and the public is welcome to attend all practices starting at 8:30 a.m. and once again at 3:00 p.m. stated Wade Steinlage, Sports Information Director for William Penn in an email to Osky News.

Head Coach Todd Hafner says the first couple of days of camp have gone well. “We are continuing to re-learn and learn our offensive and defensive schemes.  There was a huge improvement on both sides of the ball from day 1 to day 2.  Our goal is to continue to improve and make sure we are at peak level on August 27. “
