Oskaloosa–Two members of the William Penn women’s basketball squad collected postseason recognition as the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference women’s basketball teams were announced by the league office Tuesday.

Dani Stahle (Sr., South Weber, Utah, History/Government & Psychology) was one of ten players named to the first team, while Janay Pritchett (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biology & Sociology) was picked for the ten-person honorable-mention squad.

Stahle also earned Newcomer of the Year laurels, the second time WPU has brought home the accolade in the last three seasons. It is the second honor for Pritchett (both honorable mentions).

Lauren Cash of St. Ambrose was named MCC Player of the Year, while SAU Head Coach Krista Van Hauen earned the MCC Coach of the Year award after the Queen Bees won both the regular season and tournament crowns.

The Statesmen were 12-18 overall, including a 3-9 MCC mark. They reached the tourney semis for the fourth-consecutive season.

Stahle had success in nearly every area on the court, ranking tenth in the conference in points (12.6) and rebounds (5.9) and ninth in assists (2.4) and steals (1.4). She was also fifth in field-goal percentage (50.0%) and eighth at the free-throw line (78.4%).

The senior posted 22 double-digit performances, including a season-high 35 points against Grand View on February 22. She garnered MCC Player of the Week honors on December 16.

Pritchett averaged 14.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in addition to 51 assists and 18 steals. The junior ranked third in the league in scoring, sixth in free-throw percentage (80.5%), and seventh in assists (2.6). She surpassed double digits 15 times and was named MCC Player of the Week on February 3.
