Grinnell’s Sinha, Cogan earn MWC Performer of the Week honors

GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second time this season, Vrishali Sinha ’19 of Grinnell College has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Golf Performer of the Week.

Sinha, from Gurgaon, Haryana, India (Shri Ram School), was simply dominating over the weekend, beginning with a huge performance in a dual match play event against Illinois College on Saturday. She won the first 10 holes to secure the win early, and recorded an extremely rare score of 29 over the first nine holes with five birdies, an eagle and three pars.

She followed that up with a victory at the Aldeen Preview meet, recording a 3-over-par 75 as Grinnell easily claimed the team title.

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College has claimed its fourth Midwest Conference Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week honor of the season.

This week’s award was collected by Amelia Cogan ’19, from Eagle, Idaho (Batavia).

Cogan came up with a pair of key victories as the Pioneers rolled over Cornell College 8-1 to stay perfect in MWC play. She dominated at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory and teamed up with Milica Cvrkota ’21 to win 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Cogan now has 62 career doubles wins, putting her fourth on the Pioneers’ all-time chart.
