Dutch women finish at No. 7 in regional rankings

PELLA — Finishing the season with the highest winning percentage in school history, the Central College women’s soccer team were slotted No. 7 in the final regular season edition of the United Soccer Coaches North Region poll.

With a final record of 14-2-3 (5-1-2 conference), the Dutch secured a school-record winning percentage of .816. They finished unbeaten at home with seven wins and three draws. The Dutch have not lost a home contest since 2015.

The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse (16-1-2) is the No. 1 team in the region while Loras (12-1-3) is No. 2. Two more Iowa Conference schools Wartburg College (No. 6) and the University of Dubuque (No. 10) are also in the rankings.

Central also received 15 votes in this week’s D3soccer.com top-25 poll, the second-most of any Iowa Conference school. Loras is ranked No. 18.

Next season, Central will return 24 of the 32 members of its roster.
