Trio Lead Statesmen at Warhawk Open

Madison, Wis.–Three individuals were in the top 10 as the William Penn men’s bowling squad performed well at the Ebonite Warhawk Open Saturday and Sunday.
WPU was second out of 24 teams with 9,728 pins in six regular games and four sets of Baker play. Midland (Neb.) was the best qualifying team with 9,856 pins.
In the eight-team bracket competition, WPU defeated Illinois State in the quarterfinals, but ended its tournament run in the semifinals with a loss to Robert Morris (Ill.). #4 seed Wisconsin-Whitewater beat Robert Morris in the championship round.
Nick Pate of Midland (Neb.) led qualifying with a 256.8 average (1,541 pins, including a perfect game).
Nick Walker (So., Zeeland, Mich., Business Management) was one of three Statesmen at the top of the 229-person standings, placing third at 225.5. Curtis Majka (Jr., Elgin, Ill., Mechanical Engineering), in eighth at 218.2, and Stian Hoff (Sr., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting), in ninth at 217.7, also finished in the top 10.
Lucas Perdieu (Sr., DeWitt, Iowa, General Accounting) also started all six games with a 196.2 clip. David Decker (Fr., Peyton, Colo., Physical Education) owned a 182.8 average in four games, while Quincy Bruce (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, General Accounting) (223.5) competed in two rounds.
The Statesmen JV team also competed and was sixth out of 10 teams with 8,217 pins. Josh Kragh (Fr., Minot, N.D., General Accounting) tallied a 202.8 mark in six games, while Josh Fane (Fr., Brownsville, Wis., Business Management and Accounting) (183.7) and Jason Forsyth (So., Weatherford, Texas, Psychology and Human Services) (179.5) threw in six games as well.
Rylie Reidel (Jr., Knoxville, Iowa, Business Management) posted a 188.2 mark in five games, while Braxton Coble (So., Ottumwa, Iowa, Business Management) ended up with an average of 173.7 in three starts. Logan Mason (So., Knoxville, Iowa, Business Management) had a 163.0 clip in two rounds, and Cody Adair (Sr., Kearns, Utah, Undecided) (198) and Ryan Racimo (Sr. Olympia, Wash., Exercise Science) (171) both competed in one round each.
Next Up: William Penn travels to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in a pair of tournaments. On December 19-20, the team competes in the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, and then on the following two days, WPU will battle in the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout.
