GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Ryan Slager ’19 is in the running for the prestigious Cliff Harris Award.

Slager, a 6-0, 222-pound linebacker from Orland Park, Ill. (Amos Alonzo Stagg), was an All-Midwest Conference selection. Through the regular season, Slager leads the nation in tackles with 15.4 per game, with his total of 154 serving as third-highest for a season in Pioneer history. He recorded nine tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Slager has 288 tackles in his career, which is seventh all-time at Grinnell.

Finalists for the Cliff Harris Award will be announced in two weeks, with the winner being announced Dec. 24. The award will be presented at the Little Rock Touchdown Club’s annual awards banquet, which will feature Archie Manning as the main speaker.
