Another Top Ten for William Penn

Madison/Sun Prairie, Wis.–The Statesmen bowling team posted its third-straight top-ten finish as it competed at the Warhawk Open last Saturday and Sunday.

William Penn placed seventh out of 25 teams with 8,517 pins in five regular games and five sets of Bakers.

Robert Morris (Ill.) topped the field with 9,392 pins, while Eagle roller Kyle King completed the sweep by also leading the individuals with a 222.0 average (1,110 pins).

Drew Balta (Jr., Walford, Iowa, Education) led the way for the navy and gold in 21st with a 200.8 average (1,004 pins).

Conan Mackey (So., Bray, Ireland, Public Accounting) was next with a 192.2 average. Cameron Foster (Jr., West Jordan, Utah, Business Management), with a 190.2 clip, and Brandon Barboza (So., Brick, N.J., Sociology), with a 185.0 mark, also started all five games.

Jacques Kaune (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska, Business Management) managed a 175.7 average in three games, while Piet Schaeffer (Jr., Livingston, Scotland, General Mathematics) knocked down 328 pins in two games for a 164.0 average.

William Penn had a second squad in action as well with the reserve team placing third out of 13 teams in the JV standings with 8,343 pins.

Kyle Clark (Jr., Aurora, Ill., Physical Education) was the top reserve bowler with a 214.0 average to place sixth out of the 246 competitors in action.

Travis Scott (Fr., West Saint Paul, Minn., Physical Education) was next by averaging 197.0 pins

Paul Kaminski (Fr., Yorkville, Ill., Mechanical Engineering), with a 182.7 mark, Eric Smith (Sr., Glenwood, Iowa, Industrial Technology), with a 178.3 clip, and Cory Rissman (Fr., Yorkville, Ill., Industrial Technology), at 170.3, all started three games.

Connor Frederick (So., Ottumwa, Iowa, History/Government), at 194.0, Michael Applegate (Fr., Council Bluffs, Iowa, Undecided), at 184.0, and Garrett Beaham (Fr., Letts, Iowa, Industrial Technology), at 165.0, concluded the JV’s scoring by starting two games each.

Next: William Penn is off two weeks, returning to action just before Christmas for two tournaments in Las Vegas, Nev. The first is the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout on December 17-18, while the second is the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational on December 19-20.
