Lions club receiving grant money from MCCF‏

Thanks to a grant from the Mahaska County Community Foundation, the local Lions Club was able to purchase a digital camera in which to screen the eyesight of many local children. This service to the community and county has been especially beneficial due to the recent requirement that all children have a vision screening before entering school. If your preschool would like to schedule a vision screening, please contact Leslie Nuehring, the KidSight coordinator at 641-660-3855. The Lions Club will also be providing screenings this summer at the Southern Iowa Fair.

Farm Bureau donates to AED Fundraiser

Farm Bureau of Oskaloosa made a substantial donation to Mahaska Health Partnership’s AED (Automated External Defibrillators) Fundraiser to purchase two of the live-saving devices for the Lacey Recreation Complex. The AEDs are now located at the five-plex and the new stadium and will be available for all sporting events held in those locations.
